Brought in my grandfather's Omega Seamaster — something he wore every day for thirty years. I was nervous about handing it over, but Wanchai went through the condition very carefully at intake and took photos before touching anything. The written report I got back was more detailed than I expected. The timing data alone was worth the visit. Watch runs beautifully now.

Battery and new strap for my TAG Heuer. Quick turnaround — ready in three days. The pressure test was a nice touch I hadn't thought to ask for. The strap I brought in was a bit tricky with the spring bars, but they got it sorted. My only note is that the workshop can be hard to find the first time — worth calling ahead to confirm the building entrance.

I collect vintage Seikos and have been taking them to various Bangkok workshops for years. Horolune is the first place where I came away feeling that the technician actually understood what I was looking at. Wanchai knows his calibres, was honest about a hairspring that was slightly out, and didn't oversell the fix. Will be back with the next piece.

As an expat in Bangkok, finding a watch workshop that communicates clearly in English is not as easy as it should be. Horolune was great — the intake assessment, the estimate, the condition report, all in proper English. My IWC Pilot came back regulated to within a couple of seconds a day. That's about as good as you'll get outside an authorised centre.

Full restoration on a 1970s Longines that belonged to my father. The case came back looking much better — they matched the original brushed finish on the sides and polished only the bevels, which is correct. The movement had a worn keyless part that needed ordering from Germany, which added about ten days to the timeline. They called me when they found it, so no surprises.

Simple battery change and a new rubber strap for my Submariner. They were upfront that the watch was overdue for a movement service too — I appreciated them pointing it out without making it feel like an upsell. I didn't commission the service this time but I'll come back for it. Straightforward, professional people.

The Challenge
1968 Omega Constellation with erratic accuracy
A Bangkok collector brought in a Cal. 561 Constellation that had been sitting in a drawer for fifteen years. The movement turned, but accuracy had drifted to over four minutes per day — far outside any usable range.
The Approach
Full movement service with particular attention to the lever and escape wheel — typical wear points on this calibre after extended periods of minimal use. Timing machine analysis revealed a beat error of 1.8ms before regulation. New mainspring recommended and agreed by the customer.
The Outcome
Post-service timing: +4 seconds per day dial up, -2 seconds dial down — within COSC-adjacent range. Beat error reduced to 0.3ms. Movement serviced in 9 working days.
"I'd given up on this watch. It came back as it should have always been."
The Challenge
Failed water seal on a dive watch after Thailand holiday
A Singaporean visitor discovered condensation under the crystal of her Seiko SKX shortly after snorkelling in Koh Tao. She was back in Bangkok before flying home and needed the issue assessed promptly.
The Approach
Intake same day; crystal removed and condensation dried safely. Case-back and crown gaskets replaced. Pressure test to 200m. The crystal seal had degraded at the gasket groove — likely from UV exposure — and was renewed. Movement undamaged.
The Outcome
Watch sealed and pressure-tested in 2 working days, collected before departure. No movement damage. Total: Strap and battery service tier with gasket renewal included.
"Sorted in 48 hours. That is exactly what you need when you're leaving in three days."
The Challenge
Full restoration of a 1975 Longines dress watch
A Bangkok resident wanted to have her late father's Longines Ultra-Chron restored as a gift to herself for a milestone birthday. The case was deeply scratched, the dial had minor dust ingress, and the movement had not been serviced for decades.
The Approach
Full restoration scope: movement service with a worn keyless works part sourced from Germany (10-day lead). Case refinished to original brushed and polished specification. Dial carefully cleaned, with agreed decision to retain its natural patina rather than restore the printing. New crown and all seals.
The Outcome
Total project: 4 weeks from intake. Movement timing: +6/−4 seconds per day across positions. Case looks period-correct, not over-polished. Collector documentation prepared at customer's request.
"They kept the dial's character. I was worried it would come back looking like a new watch. It didn't."
